What is Puppy chow?

Well, puppy chow isn't just a food for dogs, it's an awesome and healthy snack for kids of all ages to enjoy before sporting events, or just at parties where grownups want to serve healthy snacks. Puppy chow is also a great recipe that is easy for grown-ups and kids to prepare and cook together, requiring minimal preparation time in front of hot cooking surfaces. If you'd like to find a tasty recipe that you're kids and their friends would love, that you and your young one can prepare together, than give Puppy Chow a try - you won't be sorry.

Making Puppy chow - the recipe & method:

1/4 cup of non salted butter

3/4 cup of peanut butter

1 1/4 cups of chocolate chip

7 cups of Crispix cereal

2 1/4 cups of powdered sugar

What you’re going to do is mix the butter, peanut butter, and chocolate chips in an extra large mixing bowl. Then, gently add the Crispix cereal mixing slowly as not to bust any of the cereal. Once thoroughly mixed. Add the sugar and mix until the food is well and evenly coated.

The ingredients, process, and finished product

Because this recipe combines the use of powdered sugar and peanut butter, the combination of ingredients is going to be very important to the recipe's finished product. You'll want to mix all of the ingredients in a bowl except for the powdered sugar. After all of the stuff is mixed, to make the puppy chow you'll need to coat the entire remaining mixture with the powdered sugar after tossing the ingredients. It's actually the powdered sugar that stops the puppy chow recipe from sticking to itself as children scoop it from the bowl. If you mix the powdered sugar into the mix along with the other puppy chow ingredients than you'll end up with a sticky mess that can't be eaten by much of anybody and you'll have to start over from scratch.
